September 25, 2025 – Professional sports franchises in Nashville remain among the nation’s best, both competitively and in facility investments. This spring, theNashville Predatorsannouncedplans for a transformational expansionofBridgestone Arena— adding even more strength to that claim — and those plans are now coming to life.
According tonews from The Tennessean earlier this week, the Predators’ presentation to theNashville Area Chamber of Commercedetailed $750 million in upgrades — $100 million more than the initial estimate — along with expanded concourses and the “largest rooftop bar in Nashville,” according to Predators chief strategy officerKyle Clayton.
“We want the energy from Broadway to come inside and for the energy at our events to be outside,” Clayton said. “The building was designed to be introverted, to keep everything inside. We want to flip that.”
The investment will include development of 100,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space across multiple levels. Additional expansions and renovations include:
-
Relocation of the “radio tower” toward the corner ofFifth + Broadway, creating more walking space on the plaza while keeping one of Bridgestone’s iconic details intact
-
Expansion of the ticketed entrance on the Broadway plaza with a separate entry for the commercial space
-
Event level expanded by 60,000 square feet, adding more space beyond the Lexus Lounge area to expand team locker room and training areas
-
Expansion of each concourse, including the upper level, which will have a new rooftop bar
-
New Skydeck level that will include a new press box
“We want to be a good steward of this asset,” Clayton added. “Our goal is to create even more activity and more experiences for folks when they come downtown.”
Funding for the expansion is coming directly from the Predators via ticket revenues and arena-generated sales tax, with no city funds involved. The expansion is set to begin next summer, and the core upgrades are scheduled to be completed by 2030.
