Expansion and Nashville Remain Among National Discussion

August 28, 2025 – As the pennant race heats up, so too is the attention around Nashville as a home for a Major League Baseball franchise.

Commissioner Rob Manfred’s comments last week regarding expansion and realignment sparked numerous national stories, and Nashville and the Stars were the focus. The attention on Nashville even sparked Sports Business Journal’s story on the Stars to be its most-clicked article last Wednesday, August 20.

MusicCityBaseball Managing Director John Loar told SBJ: “Our focus, and it always has been, is be ready for either relocation or expansion — but focusing on expansion — and just getting at least three years in front of it, because these things really are realistic.

He also added that the group has been focused on real estate and determining an optimal site for a stadium development, leveraging recent partnerships with Lincoln Property Company and Mortenson.

“Within that is the opportunity for a ballpark to be built so that we can show MLB that we’re ready and able to show them that we can move this process forward in the market,” Loar said.

The Stars are glad to grow our fanbase with each click on these stories, and we appreciate the opportunity to continue showing why Nashville is the best site for Major League Baseball’s next team. Go Stars!
