September 18, 2025Nashville remains among the leaders for a critical sign of a local economy’s strength: job opportunities and employee earnings. After holding the top spot two years ago, Music City now sits at No. 2 in the latest report from Checkr, which assessed unemployment rates, labor force size and growth, open jobs, income per capita and wage growth.

“Nashville … continues to thrive as a health care and entertainment capital, with a strong startup ecosystem and cultural draw that appeals to young professionals,” the report said.

In Nashville, just like in any city, those job opportunities attract new residents across the area. The strength of Nashville’s job market is complemented by the city of Nolensville’s population growth, which ranks as the 10th-fastest in the nation, according to StorageCafe.

Among cities with a population of at least 10,000, Nolensville’s population grew by 137% between 2014 and 2023, with home prices soaring by 120% over that span. Nolensville is joined on the rankings by Spring Hill, which finished at No. 57 thanks to a 70% growth over the 10-year period. The city of Nashville itself has likewise seen its own population rise at a 10% rate. Both Nolensville and Spring Hill will soon be welcoming new communities and neighborhoods, as master planned communities and gated golf-club communities are slated to arrive in the coming years.

The Stars are proud to welcome a continued influx of new residents into all parts of our city, and we look forward to bringing Stars baseball to all of you when Major League Baseball makes its new home in Music City.
