November 20, 2025 – Wednesday was the biggest night in country music. And the attention of the world was focused right here on Nashville.
So with all of the stars shining on stage at Bridgestone Arena during the 2025 CMA Awards, their excitement grew even brighter when talking about our great city. The topic: Major League Baseball in Nashville.
Newly minted San Francisco Giants manager Tony Vitello is convinced: Nashville “absolutely” should be home to Major League Baseball. Vitello continued: “This city has everything else to offer. There’s a ton of people that live here and there’s even more that love to visit, so packing the stands would not be an issue. It’s probably the perfect destination for a team … and I think it’s a matter of time.”
Singer-songwriter Ashley Cooke counts several MLB players among her close friends, all of whom acknowledge an affinity for Nashville and “would love to be here” if Nashville had a Major League Baseball team. Brett Young put it neatly: “We would obviously have the best fans in the world.”
Those fans were cheering on Music & Entertainment Advisors Kix Brooks and Luke Combs as they represented the Stars all night as country music celebrated its biggest talents. Brooks — and partner Ronnie Dunn — of Brooks & Dunn won the CMA Award for Vocal Duo of the Year for the 16th time, and Combs was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year (“Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma”).
We are grateful to Luke and Kix for the way they continue to represent Nashville and the Stars on one of country music’s biggest nights. Their presence on the CMA stage is a reminder of the talent and momentum that define this city. We look forward to building on that same spirit as we work to bring Major League Baseball to Music City.
