October 15, 2025 – Major League Baseball has supported Stand Up To Cancer and its programs for more than 15 years, and one of our advisors is adding his own effort. After losing his father to cancer 11 years ago, Nashville Stars Music Industry Advisor Mitchell Tenpenny launched The 10Penny Fund, which invests in sustainable and meaningful programs that motivate cancer patients, encourage healing and build community.

One of the fund’s events brought more than 100 people together last week for Tenpenny’s 4th Annual Cornhole Tournament. The resiliency of cancer patients was reflected in the event, which took place despite storms in the area. The Stars took part in the event, as the pairing with Music Industry Advisor Adam Doleac (pictured top right, far left) came away with the win over that of Stars digital media manager Delaney Rohrs (top right, second from right).

“I just want to help people to prepare themselves mentally to battle cancer,” Tenpenny said. “I don’t want people to worry about the money part of that. That’s such a huge wall for so many of them, saying ‘I would get therapy or I would get help, but I can’t afford it,’ and we don’t want that. So, hopefully, some people’s lives are changed by just being able to talk to somebody.”

Merchandise supporting The 10Penny Fund is available to purchase at 10PennyFund.org. The Nashville Stars salute Tenpenny’s efforts in supporting cancer patients and their families.
